Question by Eli: What are some popular styles of sunglasses worn in the military?
I’m signing my contract tomorrow (Army Infantry) and I need a new pair of glasses. I’ve got a pair of Costa Del Mar (really nice fishing glasses) Harpoon 580s. However they are blue mirror with a tortoise frame. Which is far from military regulation. So what are some good sunglasses people are wearing in the military. I’m willing to spend up to 0.

You will get issued a pair of both clear and dark eyepro. When we are working that is pretty much all we are going to wear. If you want some different ones make sure they are on the APEL list, otherwise you are wasting your money. APEL is Army Protective Eyewear list, either that or at least make sure they are ballistic, to know that look on the frames or lens it will say Z87 on it.
